I think I was born with a crayon in my hand. Like a photographer with a camera, I record and document my thoughts, impressions, memories, and observations vis-a-vis the art quilt. I am an academically trained artist. Fabric is my tool. I am drawn to art forms where the final product is unplanned and evolves with the intuitive handling of materials. I see my quilts as art and design them to be hung on a wall and viewed as one would a painting. The process of assembling fabric pieces together is a form of collage technique. I am fascinated by the process of constructing different pieces of fabric to form a completed composition. The experience of creating order out of chaos is thrilling to me. Often, I do not know what the completed work will look like. My intuitive handling of materials takes care of the product.
